Megan and Sandy at the Starfield Library in Seoul

Following a few days of free time and self-exploration around beautiful Seoul, Megan and Sandy joined a small-group GAdventures tour with their very own local guide making sure they didn't miss anything! After an initial orientation walk with their guide, they met up with others for a delightful group dinner, bonding with fellow travelers over delectable Korean cuisine.

On day two of their guided tour, they hopped aboard a private bus for a guided tour of Seoul's iconic landmarks. They marveled at the grandeur of Gyengbokgung Palace, explored the fascinating exhibits at the National Folklore Museum, and wandered through the charming Bukchon Hanok Village. They also had the opportunity to indulge their taste buds with authentic Korean flavors at local street markets, savoring delicacies like bibimbap and kimchi.

We went to Gyeongbokgung Palace for a 2-hour tour. Unbelievably stunning. The architecture and details in the buildings are beautiful. Pictures just don’t do justice. Then we went to a history museum. Then lunch at a local Korean cuisine. YUM! Then Hanuk Village. So beautiful. Old village that still have residents so you have to be quiet while walking the streets. People in our tour group are great. An electic group all from different countries which makes it so much fun!! Looking forward to making more memories with them all!

Day three brought a scenic journey aboard a high-speed bullet train to Gyeongju-si, a city steeped in history. They experienced a unique overnight temple stay, immersing themselves in the serenity of ancient traditions. They learned about temple etiquette, witnessed mesmerizing martial arts performances, and participated in morning meditation amid breathtaking natural surroundings.

Early morning meditation walk. Lovely. Went to a local village that is inhabited but also has original housing from Joseon dynasty time. Absolutely beautiful and loving the learning of all the history.

Day four was all about discovering Gyeongju's treasures. After awakening to the melodious chants of monks, they embarked on a city tour of Gyeongju's UNESCO-listed sites. They explored the majestic Bulguksa Temple, marveled at the Cheomseongdae Observatory, and delved into the rich heritage of the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. They were also presented with optional activities like visiting Anapji Pond or exploring the city on a bicycle.

On day five, our clients traveled by bus to the vibrant coastal city of Busan, stopping at Yangdong Folk Village and Haedong Yonggungsa Temple along the way. They indulged in a sensory feast at bustling markets and soaked in the breathtaking vistas of Haeundae Beach. They also had the option of enjoying cultural experiences like visiting Busan Tower or unwinding at a traditional jjimjilbang spa.

Day six of their itinerary brought a captivating city tour of Busan, visiting cultural gems like Jagalchi Fish Market and Yongdusan Park. They dove into the vibrant ambiance of Gamcheon Culture Village and savored panoramic views from N Seoul Tower. Some of the group even spent that evening indulging in karaoke or exploring the bustling Gangnam district.

BUSAN!!! So beautiful and so much fun!! Celebrated a birthday, went beachside, some of us ate live octopus (I did not lol), and of course ended with a bang with karaoke!!!🥳🙌🏼💃🏻🙌🏼

On the final full day of the GAdventures tour, the group headed to the Korean Demilitarized Zone, a poignant reminder of the country's divided history. They explored historical sites like the War Memorial Hall and gained insights into Korea's tumultuous past. Some opted for immersive experiences like a kimchi-making class or a visit to Samsung Leeum Gallery.

Namsan Tower, DMZ, War Memorial Museum. Unreal.

At the DMZ
