I built Athens, the Aegean, and the Adriatic around a simple belief: Greece deserves more than a cruise stop. It deserves unhurried mornings, shared kitchens, long tables, and enough time in one place to actually feel it. That's what the land journey gives you — ten nights of slow, intentional travel through Athens and two of the most beautiful islands in the Cyclades.

And then, for those who want more, we sail.

The cruise takes the story somewhere new — more of the Greek islands and then into the Adriatic, through Croatia, Montenegro, and ending on the Italian coast, aboard Celebrity Eclipse. It is a completely different experience from the land portion, which is exactly the point.

You do not have to do both. Some of you will join us for Greece by land only. Some will join just for the cruise. And some will stay for the whole thing, from the moment we land in Athens to the morning we sail into Ravenna.

However you travel with us, the focus is the same: good food, beautiful places, genuine connection, and a pace that lets you actually enjoy the experience you came for.

I will be with the group every day on the land portion, and available throughout the cruise. You are never navigating this alone.

Athens

I have always believed that the best way into a new place is through its food. Athens will give us ancient history, magnificent ruins, and more stories than we can take in. But before we look up at the Parthenon, we'll look down at a market stall, taste something we can't name, and ask the person next to us what it is. That's how a city opens up.

Most people treat Athens as a one-night layover before the islands. Those people are wrong.

Athens has one of the most vibrant and affordable food scenes in Europe, a coffee culture that predates the third-wave movement by decades, and neighborhoods — Psyri, Monastiraki, Koukaki — that feel genuinely alive in a way that most European capitals have lost.

The ancient sites are magnificent — the Acropolis is among the most visited attractions in all of Europe and earns every bit of its reputation. But Athens in September is also a city of neighborhood cafes, rooftop bars, open-air markets, and taverna dinners that stretch well past midnight.

September and October are ideal months for Athens — warm and pleasant, without the intensity of August. The summer crowds have thinned. The light is golden. The city belongs a little more to the people who live in it. Three nights here gives you time to experience both the ancient city and the very much alive one.

Beyond the Acropolis, Athens offers the Benaki Museum — Greece's finest private museum charting Greek civilization from prehistory to the 20th century — the National Garden, a lush oasis in the heart of the city, and Lycabettus Hill, the highest point in Athens, offering panoramic views of the city and the Aegean on a clear day.

The way into any culture is through its food — and Athens proves this better than almost any city in Europe.

The Central Market (Varvakios Agora) is one of the great food markets of the Mediterranean: a working, breathing market where Athens feeds itself. Fishmongers, butchers, spice vendors, cheese stalls, and olive oil producers side by side, operating exactly as they have for generations.

A guided food walking tour through the Central Market, Monastiraki, and Psyri covers the city's food culture, history, and best producers with more than 20 tastings — one of the best ways to understand a city that exists anywhere in Europe.

The cooking class that follows takes everything a step further: we visit the market as shoppers rather than observers, choosing the ingredients we will cook together. By the time we sit down to eat what we have made, Athens feels less like a destination and more like somewhere we belong.

That shift — from visitor to participant — is what the food experiences on this trip are designed to create. Not just meals. Context.

The Herodion is where this journey begins — and the rooftop is where we gather for our welcome dinner on the first evening, with the Acropolis lit up in the distance. It is one of those moments that makes everyone realize they are really here.

Paros

The ferry from Athens delivers you into a completely different world. Paros is the Cyclades at its most effortlessly beautiful — whitewashed walls, turquoise water, a harbor village that genuinely takes your breath away. Three nights here means time to actually settle into island life rather than just pass through it. One experience on the water, one around a farm table, and the rest of the days are entirely yours.

Paros sits at the heart of the Cyclades and offers something increasingly rare in the Greek islands: genuine charm without the chaos. It is often described as the best of both worlds — the cosmopolitan energy of Mykonos and the authentic island soul of Naxos, without the extremes of either.

The village of Naoussa, on the island's north coast, is where we base ourselves — and it is where Paros shows its best face. What began as a humble fishing village has become one of the most desirable destinations in the Aegean, with whitewashed alleyways, boutiques, wine bars, and seafood restaurants that spill onto the harbor front. At the heart of it all, traditional fishing boats still bob in the old port beneath the ruins of a Venetian castle. By day it is calm and beautiful. As the sun goes down, it becomes one of the most atmospheric places in Greece.

The beaches around Naoussa are some of the finest in the Cyclades. Piperi Beach is steps from the hotel. Kolymbithres — famous for its otherworldly sculpted granite rock formations — is a short drive away and one of the best snorkeling spots on the island. The Blue Lagoon between Paros and Antiparos offers some of the clearest water in the Aegean, accessible only by boat.

September is the sweet spot for Paros. The summer crowds have thinned by mid-month, the sea is still warm and perfect for swimming, and the restaurants go back to operating at the pace the locals actually prefer. The island exhales in September. So will you.

We could have based ourselves in Parikia, the island's capital and port. We chose Naoussa instead — and the difference is significant.

Naoussa is walkable in a way that feels designed for exactly this kind of trip. The hotel is steps from Piperi Beach and a short walk from the harbor, the restaurants, and the alleyways worth wandering. There is no need for transportation to get to daily life — you simply step outside and the island begins.

The harbor itself is the social center of Naoussa. In the morning, fishing boats unload their catch. By afternoon, the taverna tables fill up. By evening, the whole village seems to gather along the waterfront. It is the kind of place where sitting still feels like doing something.

Naoussa also sits close to everything worth seeing on the island — Kolymbithres Beach, the Moraitis Winery, the village of Lefkes in the hills, and the ferry connection to Antiparos for those who want a day of additional exploration. It is the right base for three nights of genuine island life.

Hotel Senia is where Paros reveals itself — a boutique property perched just above Piperi Beach with views across Naoussa Bay, five minutes on foot from the harbor village and steps from the water.

This is the kind of hotel where you come back from a morning swim, sit down to breakfast with the bay in front of you, and realize you have nowhere you need to be until later in the afternoon. Blue Lagoon sailing and snorkeling excursion — board a traditional wooden boat and sail to the Blue Lagoon, a turquoise natural lagoon accessible only by water, set between the small island complexes of Padieronissia off the coast of Antiparos. Seasonal menu — starters such as tzatziki, zucchini fritters, or stuffed vine leaves, followed by a main dish of roasted meats or seasonal vegetable dishes, served with local wine, homemade lemonade, fresh bread, and homemade ice cream. Naxos

Naxos is where this trip finds its soul. The largest of the Cyclades and the most fertile, it is an island that actually feeds itself — producing its own cheese, olive oil, potatoes, wine, and citrus from farms you can drive to in ten minutes. The food here does not perform authenticity. It simply is. Three nights on this island, and you will understand why people who discover Naxos tend to come back.

Most first-time visitors to Greece skip Naxos in favor of the famous names. Repeat visitors know better.

Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades and one of its most quietly extraordinary. Where Mykonos dazzles and Santorini performs, Naxos simply lives — and it has been doing so with considerable conviction since Zeus himself was said to have been raised in a cave on its highest mountain. Dionysus, god of wine, chose Naxos as his mythical home. One suspects he appreciated both the terroir and the temperament.

The island is ringed by miles of soft golden sand — some of the best beaches in all of Greece. The mountainous interior is peppered with olive groves, ancient Byzantine churches, and traditional villages like Halki and Apeiranthos where marble-paved streets and stone towers have barely changed in centuries. Naxos Town (Chora) is a living, working Greek town with a Venetian castle at its center and the iconic Portara — the unfinished marble gateway of an ancient temple to Apollo — standing sentinel at the harbor entrance, catching the last light of every evening.

September is the single best month to visit Naxos. The sea is at its warmest after months of summer sun — bathwater temperature, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The crowds have thinned. The harvest season begins, and the farms and markets fill with the season's best produce. The island quiets into its own rhythm, and that rhythm is exactly what we are here for.

Every island in the Cyclades claims a food identity. Naxos actually has one.

What makes Naxian food different is not technique or presentation — it is the quality of what the island grows. Natural springs and mineral-rich soil give local farmers a yield that most Cycladic islands can only envy. When a menu on Naxos says local, it often means from a farm you could drive to.

The cheeses are exceptional and genuinely famous throughout Greece — graviera (nutty, similar to gruyère), arseniko kefalotiri (firm and savory, aged with depth), and xinomyzithra (soft and tangy). The potatoes are legendary: small, yellow, grown in volcanic soil, with a flavor unlike any potato most visitors have encountered. The olive oil is unmatched. The wine, made from grapes grown on the island's fertile slopes, is consistently excellent and consistently underpriced.

And then there is kitro — a liqueur distilled from the leaves of the citron fruit, unique to Naxos, produced in three versions ranging from sweet and golden to dry and clear. You will try it before you leave.

The farm experiences on this island are the ones travelers talk about for years. Not because they are theatrical, but because they are real. The Perivoli Farm wood-fire cooking class puts you in the middle of a working farm, cooking over an open fire with ingredients gathered from the garden that morning. The Rina Cave cruise follows the next day — a full day on the water visiting the Small Cyclades, swimming inside a sea cave, and eating a Greek barbecue lunch onboard. These are two of the finest experiences available anywhere in the Cyclades.

The Naxos Resort Beach Hotel sits directly on St. George Beach — the long golden stretch of sand that begins at the edge of Naxos Town and curves gently southward along the coast. Perivoli Farm wood-fire cooking class — the signature experience of the entire land journey. At a family farm near the village of Melanes, the afternoon begins with a tour of the property — meeting the farm animals (chickens, rabbits, pigs, and peacocks), collecting fresh eggs from the coop, walking the olive groves, potato fields, vineyard, and vegetable garden. The group then gathers to cook traditional Naxian recipes over a wood fire using ingredients collected from the farm. The meal you cook together is the meal you eat together. Traditional Naxian dances follow. Lunch included: Naxian omelet, zucchini balls, tzatziki, Naxian potatoes, variety of Naxos cheeses, briam or gemista as main dish, locally produced house wine, and homemade fruit preserves.
Rina Cave and Koufonissia full-day cruise — a 9.5-hour traditional wooden boat adventure departing Agia Anna port. Three stops across the Small Cyclades: Kato Koufonissi for swimming in turquoise waters, Ano Koufonissi for 2.5 hours ashore exploring the village on foot and swimming at its beaches, and the spectacular Rina Cave — a sea cave accessible only by boat where you swim inside the cave, jump from the rocks if the spirit moves you, or climb down the ladder if it doesn't. This can be added on for you once flights are booked.

Naxos Town (Chora) Wandering
The old town climbs from the harbor up into the Venetian Kastro — a 13th-century castle whose walls contain a neighborhood of narrow streets, medieval mansions, and sweeping views. The harbor waterfront below is lined with cafes and tavernas. The Portara at the harbor entrance catches the sunset every evening and draws the whole island out to watch. A half-day or full-day circuit of Naxos by bus or car takes in the Temple of Demeter, the marble village of Apeiranthos, the Byzantine tower at Halki, and the Kouros statue at Apollonas — a massive unfinished ancient marble figure lying in an outdoor quarry, abandoned mid-creation thousands of years ago. Celebrity Eclipse carries the group outward — through the Greek islands one last time, now seen from the water, and then into the Adriatic, where the coastline shifts from Cycladic white to medieval stone. The Eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic coast is one of the great sailing routes in the world — and one that most travelers only discover by accident, usually while trying to get to somewhere more famous.

The Adriatic is the body of water that separates Italy from the Balkan Peninsula, stretching from the heel of Italy's boot up to Venice. Its eastern shore — Croatia and Montenegro — is lined with some of the most dramatically beautiful coastline in Europe: limestone cliffs, medieval walled cities, deep bays that narrow like fjords, and water so clear it looks fabricated.

What makes this sailing particularly satisfying after the land portion is the contrast it provides. Greece gave us islands, farms, open sky, and the warm familiarity of a place we have been learning to know. The Adriatic adds stone walls, ancient harbors, UNESCO World Heritage cities, and a different chapter of Mediterranean history — Venetian, Roman, and Byzantine all at once.

September is the ideal month for this itinerary. The summer crowds have thinned in Dubrovnik and Kotor. The sea is still warm from months of sun. The light in the late afternoon turns everything on the Dalmatian coast gold. The Adriatic in September is the Adriatic at its best.

The most famous of the Cyclades — and worth every bit of the reputation. The old town (Chora) is a labyrinth of whitewashed alleyways, windmills, and pelicans. The beaches are excellent. By this point in the journey you have been in Greece long enough to know exactly how to enjoy it.

Sept 23 · Rhodes, Greece · 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM · Docked
Rhodes Old Town is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe — surrounded by walls built by the Knights of St. John in the 14th century. The Street of the Knights is straight from a history book. The Grand Master's Palace is extraordinary. Beyond the walls, the modern town has excellent seafood restaurants along the harbor front.

Sept 24 · Santorini, Greece · 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM · Tendered
The late departure time is intentional. Santorini at sunset from the caldera — whether from the cliffs of Oia or from your balcony as the ship sits at anchor — is one of the most celebrated views in the world. You now have until 10:00 PM to decide for yourself whether it deserves the reputation. It does.

Sept 25 · Chania, Crete · 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM · Docked
The most beautiful city on Crete and one of the most overlooked ports on this itinerary. The Venetian harbor is lined with pastel-colored buildings, a lighthouse, and seafood restaurants. The covered market is one of the finest in Greece. The old town behind the harbor is a maze of Venetian and Ottoman architecture that rewards wandering without a plan.

Sept 26 · Day at Sea
The ship crosses from the Greek islands into the Adriatic. A natural pause between two chapters. Use it.

Sept 27 · Dubrovnik, Croatia · 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM · Docked
The crown jewel of the Adriatic — and one of the most visually stunning cities in all of Europe. The 2-kilometer walk around the medieval city walls gives unobstructed views of the red-tiled Old Town rooftops and the sparkling Adriatic below. The walls require advance booking — plan ahead. The streets inside are car-free and completely walkable. Early morning is the finest time to be there before the crowds peak mid-morning.

Sept 28 · Kotor, Montenegro · 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM · Docked
Be on deck when the ship enters Kotor Bay. This is one of the great sailing approaches in the Mediterranean — the bay narrows like a fjord as the ship winds deeper inland, limestone mountains rising sharply on every side, the medieval walled city appearing ahead. Set your alarm if you need to. You will not regret it. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, compact and completely walkable, with stone alleyways, 12th-century churches, a Venetian-era clock tower, and the Maritime Museum of Montenegro. Cats, famously, are everywhere. A fortress above the town is reachable by 1,350 steps — the views at the top are worth every one of them for those who want the climb.

Sept 29 · Day at Sea
The last sea day. A good one for the spa, for the deck, for reflection — and for finishing whatever you started reading at the beginning of the trip.

Sept 30 · Split, Croatia · 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM · Docked
Split is unlike any other city on this itinerary. Diocletian's Palace — built in 305 AD as a Roman emperor's retirement home — is not a ruin behind a fence. It is a living neighborhood. People live inside the palace walls. Restaurants, galleries, shops, and apartment buildings occupy structures that have been standing for 1,700 years. The ship docks directly on the Riva promenade, five minutes on foot from the palace gates. Walk in through the Golden Gate on the north side and take a moment before moving on. What you are standing in is extraordinary.

Oct 1 · Ravenna, Italy · Arrive 5:30 AM · Disembarkation
The journey ends in Ravenna — gateway to Venice, which is approximately 90 minutes away by train or car. Bologna airport is approximately 90 minutes away for those flying home. Rome is approximately three hours by train. This is where the group disperses — but that does not mean the adventure has to.

Mykonos
Wander the old town independently — most people find this is the best approach. For beaches, the south coast has the famous spots (Psarou, Ornos, Paradise) reachable by bus or taxi. The windmills above Little Venice are the classic photograph. Walk there late morning when the light is right.

Rhodes
The Old Town walls walk is the essential activity — the medieval fortifications are exceptional and the views over the harbor are magnificent. The Palace of the Grand Master is the architectural centerpiece. For those who want to venture further, the ancient site of Lindos — a hillside acropolis above a gorgeous bay — is approximately 45 minutes away.

Santorini
Cable car or donkeys up from the tender pier to Fira, then walk or take the bus to Oia for sunset. The caldera views from Oia's clifftop paths are what the photographs cannot quite capture. For those who want to swim, the black sand beaches of Perissa and Kamari are on the east coast. Wine tasting at Santo Wines with caldera views is one of the better experiences on the island.

Chania
Walk the Venetian harbor front, visit the covered market, and wander into the old town. The leather street (Skridlof) is famous and worth seeing. For those who want to go further, the Samaria Gorge — the longest gorge in Europe — begins about an hour's drive away. A full-day excursion for confident walkers.

Dubrovnik
The city walls walk is non-negotiable — book in advance, the walls have timed entry requirements. Enter the Old Town early, before the cruise crowds peak mid-morning. The Buža bars — built into the outer city walls with direct Adriatic access — are one of the great unexpected discoveries in Dubrovnik. A sunset cable car ride to Mount Srđ above the city gives one of the finest panoramas on the Adriatic coast.

Kotor
The Old Town is completely walkable from the ship — five minutes from the gangway. The fortress climb (1,350 steps, allow 1.5–2 hours) rewards with views that justify every step for those who want them. The boat trip across the bay to the tiny artificial island of Our Lady of the Rocks — built by local sailors over centuries by dropping stones into the water — is one of the more quietly moving experiences available from Kotor.

Split
Walk the Riva promenade from the ship directly to Diocletian's Palace — ten minutes, entirely flat. Enter through the Bronze Gate into the Peristyle, the central courtyard. The underground cellars (approximately €10) are worth visiting. For those with more time, the medieval town of Trogir is 30 minutes away by bus and is another UNESCO World Heritage site.

The evening before Celebrity Eclipse departs, the group gathers in Piraeus. For those coming from the land journey, this is the natural end of the Greek chapter — a final night in the Athens area before the sailing begins. For those joining the cruise from home, this is where the adventure starts.

The Mitsis N'U Piraeus Port is a modern, comfortable hotel positioned perfectly for an easy embarkation morning. One block from the Piraeus metro station — which connects directly to Athens airport and the city center — and seven minutes by taxi to the Celebrity Eclipse terminal. The rooftop bar with port views is where the group gathers on the evening of September 19 for an optional dinner together. No agenda. Just the group, a drink, and the knowledge that tomorrow morning a ship is waiting.

Q: Do I have to book both the land journey and the cruise? A: No. Both are available as completely standalone experiences. Join us for Greece only, the cruise only, or the full journey from beginning to end. There is no pressure to commit to both and no discount withheld for choosing one. Q: How many people will be on the land journey? A: The land group is capped at 16 travelers including Christie and her husband Chris. If the trip fills, a waitlist opens automatically. We are also open to running this journey again if the interest is there — so if you miss the registration window, reach out anyway. __________

Q: What is the minimum number of travelers required for this trip to run? A: This trip requires a minimum of 8 travelers to operate as planned. Q: Can I share a room with a friend? A: Yes. Double occupancy is the standard booking for all properties. Twin room configurations (two separate beds) are available at all three land hotels and at the Piraeus pre-cruise hotel. Please note your bed preference clearly at registration. Hotel Senia in Paros has a limited number of twin-configured rooms — these are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. __________

Q: I am traveling solo. Is that common on these trips? A: Very. Q: What is the sea view upgrade and is it worth it? A: The sea view upgrade applies to Hotel Senia in Paros (bay view) and Naxos Resort Beach Hotel in Naxos (beach view). Athens hotel rooms are standard city view for all travelers regardless of category. Whether the upgrade is worth it depends entirely on how much time you plan to spend in your room. If you are the kind of traveler who opens the curtains first thing in the morning, eats breakfast on a balcony, and sits outside with a glass of wine before dinner — it is absolutely worth it. ABOUT THE CRUISE

Q: What cabin category do you recommend? A: Christie's personal recommendation is Concierge Class — she has held two Prime Concierge staterooms for this group and considers it the sweet spot of the sailing. The upgrade from a standard Veranda is meaningful: personalized concierge service, restaurant seating preference, a welcome lunch on boarding day, and daily in-room touches that make the experience noticeably more personal. Q: Does my stateroom have a balcony? A: It depends on the category you choose. The Inside Guarantee has no outside view. The Ocean View has a window — you see the sea but cannot step outside from your room. Veranda and above (Prime Veranda, Concierge Class, Aqua Class, and Suites) all include a private balcony. The Adriatic coastline, the sail-in to Kotor Bay, and Santorini at 10pm are best experienced from your own private outdoor space. ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE

Q: Is travel insurance required? A: Not required, but strongly recommended — and Christie believes in it because she has seen it pay out when it mattered. Given the length of this itinerary, the nonrefundable deposit structure on two separate products, and the significant financial commitment involved, travel insurance is the single most important step you can take to protect your investment. Christie works with Chubb Travel Insurance most often and will provide a quote at time of booking. Two options to know about: - Standard coverage: covers trip cancellation for covered reasons (illness, injury, death of a family member, and others). Typically 3%–15% of total trip cost depending on age and coverage level. - Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR): cancel for literally any reason and receive 50%–75% of your costs back. Approximately double the standard premium. Must be purchased within a specific window of your initial deposit — ask Christie at registration. If you already have coverage through a credit card or separate policy, simply provide proof. If you choose to decline coverage, a signed waiver will be required. __________

Q: Can I decline travel insurance? A: Yes. By law you cannot be required to purchase insurance. After receiving your quote, you can sign a waiver to decline coverage. Christie will note this on your file. If your plans change later and you need to cancel, the cancellation policies above apply regardless. __________

ABOUT FLIGHTS & TRANSFERS

Q: Am I responsible for booking my own flights? A: You are responsible for purchasing your own flights, but you will not have to figure out the timing alone. Christie will prompt the group when it is time to book so you do not need to track deadlines on your own. Christie is happy to assist with flight research — and the $50 per person ticketing fee is waived for all travelers on this trip. If you prefer to use miles, points, or a travel portal, that is a great option. Christie does not handle award bookings but can advise on which flights work best with the group itinerary. __________

Q: What airports should I use? A: Arriving - fly into Athens International Airport (ATH), also known as Eleftherios Venizelos. Arrive September 10. A group transfer to the Herodion Hotel will be coordinated. Departing for land-only travelers: fly out of Athens (ATH) on September 19 or 20 depending on your flight availability after the morning ferry from Naxos. Departing after the cruise: the cruise ends in Ravenna, Italy on October 1. Nearest airports are Bologna (BLQ) approximately 90 minutes away, Venice (VCE) approximately 90 minutes by train or car, and Rome (FCO) approximately 3 hours by train. Christie will provide guidance on onward travel options closer to departure. __________

Q: How do airport transfers work? A: Christie will coordinate group arrival transfers from Athens International Airport to the Herodion Hotel. Pickup times will be scheduled to accommodate the group's arrival schedule as closely as possible. Transfer details will be confirmed once flight information has been collected from all travelers. __________

ABOUT PASSPORTS, VISAS, AND ENTRY

Q: What do I need for my passport? A: A valid US passport is required. Most countries require your passport to have a minimum of six months of validity beyond your return travel date — so if your passport expires before April 2028, renew it in early 2027. US passport renewal processing times have been lengthy in recent years. Do not leave this to the last minute. Your name on all reservations and travel documents must match your passport exactly. Please provide your full legal name as it appears on your passport when registering. __________

Q: Do I need a visa? A: US citizens do not currently require a visa to visit Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, or Italy for stays under 90 days. A note on ETIAS: the European Union has been developing ETIAS — a digital travel authorization similar to the US ESTA system — for several years. As of August 2026, ETIAS does not have a confirmed launch date. The EU removed its previously stated late-2026 target and a 2027 launch is now considered the most likely outcome. When it launches, ETIAS will be a simple online application costing approximately €20. Whether ETIAS will be required for September 2027 travel is not yet confirmed. Christie will monitor this closely and keep the group fully informed. When the time comes, she will walk everyone through the process. You do not need to do anything about this now. __________

ABOUT DIETARY NEEDS AND SPECIAL REQUESTS

Q: Can this trip accommodate dietary restrictions? A: It depends on the restriction — and we want to be honest with you because the land portion of this trip is genuinely food-forward. Vegetarians: Greek cuisine includes many naturally vegetarian dishes and most restaurants can accommodate vegetarians without difficulty. The farm cooking experiences on this trip are centered around traditional Greek cooking, which often features meat as a central dish. Vegetarian participants can be accommodated at most included meals with advance notice, but some flexibility and communication with Christie in advance is helpful. Vegans: the land journey will be genuinely challenging for vegans. Greek cuisine is heavily dairy-based — cheeses, yogurt, and butter appear throughout traditional cooking. Restaurant options for vegans exist but are limited on the islands in particular. Q: Is there a dress code at any point on the itinerary? A: Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate throughout the trip. When visiting the Acropolis, churches, or any religious site in Greece, modest dress is expected — shoulders and knees covered for both men and women. The cruise (September 20 – October 1): temperatures gradually cool as the ship moves north toward Croatia and Montenegro. Closer to departure, a group communication channel will be established so travelers can connect with each other before arrival. During the trip, a digital itinerary through the Itineraries app will give every traveler real-time access to the full schedule, hotel details, excursion information, and contact numbers — all on their phone. __________

Athens, the Aegean, and the Adriatic combines a 10-night land journey through Greece with an 11-night cruise through the Eastern Mediterranean and Adriatic — available as one journey, two journeys, or anywhere in between. The land portion is capped at 16 travelers. When those spots are filled, the waitlist opens.

All payments to Toastable Travel are held in escrow until trip costs are disbursed — your money is never commingled and is only applied as costs come due. Toastable Travel + Events carries Errors & Omissions insurance. Your investment is protected from the moment you register.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU REGISTER

Once you register and submit your deposit, here is exactly what happens next:

Christie reviews your booking and confirms your spot within 24 hours.
You receive a welcome email with everything you need to know.
You are added to the private group communication channel where you can connect with fellow travelers before departure.
Leading up to the trip, you receive information on travel insurance, flights, what to pack, and how to stay connected with the group
Closer to departure you receive your digital itinerary through the Itineraries app — every hotel, transfer, excursion, and included experience in one place, accessible on your phone.
Intermediate payment of $1,500 per person due January 10, 2027 (land journey travelers)
Land final payment due May 10, 2027
Cruise final payment due June 8, 2027
Christie is available from the moment you register until the moment you get home — and for questions, photos, and recipes long after that.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Christie can assist with Chubb Travel Insurance options at time of booking — ask at registration.

HOW THE REGISTRATION PROCESS WORKS

When you register you will complete a secure form in TravelJoy that gives us everything we need to confirm your spot. Here is what we will ask for:

Your basic information (name, date of birth, email, phone)
Your booking option (land only, cruise only, or both)
Your room or stateroom preference (shared or solo, standard or sea view)
Your bed preference (twin beds or double/queen)
Whether you would like payment arrangements
Any special needs, dietary requirements, or requests

Step 3: Complete the traveler registration form. If you are registering two people on one invoice, complete both sets of traveler information — do not miss the second traveler section.

Step 4: Authorize your deposit payment.

Important: When you enter your payment details, you are authorizing us to charge your deposit — but nothing is charged at the moment you click submit. Only once Christie has reviewed your form, confirmed your room or stateroom assignment, and clarified any details with you will the deposit actually be processed. You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is finalized.
